Seminar Description and Agenda

The 2026 Holistic Health Seminar on Memory Loss is a free seminar for those concerned about memory-related changes, caregivers, family members, and health professionals in the Greater Baltimore Area.

The RSVP deadline is Thursday, June 4, or until capacity is reached.

This year's theme is Staying Connected as We Age: Tools for Meaningful Connection and Care.

  • Dr. Nana Yaw Adu-Sarkodie, MD, MPH (Medical Director, West Baltimore PACE)- Social Isolation: The relationship between social isolation and depression; the importance of social connection for protecting brain health and reducing dementia risk; effective ways to connect with individuals, including those living with dementia; and stigma that contributes to isolation in PLWD

  • Dr. Halima Amjad, MD, MPH, PhD (Associate Professor, Johns Hopkins Geriatric Medicine)- C.A.R.E.giving, including Connection (e.g., family/friends, support systems, communication), Access (healthcare providers, benefits, care coordination), Respite (caregiver well-being/self-care, respite resources), and Education (understanding the condition; planning for the future); and provide a brief overview of the GUIDE Model
